Ash Kumar, Director at Sanjeev explains; ‘We are a forward-thinking company who strives to ensure best practice across our business. As we have grown our business needs have evolved and we identified the need to invest in technology to help us run our operations and take our business to the next level. We carried out an in-depth review of the market place looking at leading solutions such as SAP Business One and Datel Protex. We selected Datel and the clothing and footwear solution Protex. The Datel team clearly demonstrated their expertise of the clothing and footwear sector and the unique challenges we face. The Protex solution stood out from the others as it clearly was built for our sector and was relevant to the way we do business. The ability to integrate to Sage Financials was an added bonus as this solution works for our business and minimises disruption for our finance team.’
Business behind the brands, Influence and Native Youth, selects Datel Protex to provide the tools to support their business growth
Sanjeev (1979) Limited, is a family run business behind the successful brands Influence, Native Youth, Neon Rose, Another Influence, Violet Rose and Wednesday’s Girl. As an ambitious business they have selected the clothing and footwear business management solution – Protex, supplied by Datel to manage its business growth.
With a long standing success record starting in the 1970’s Sanjeev (1979) Ltd provides womenswear and menswear in the fast-moving pace fashion industry. Core to the business is its wholesale fashion arm, Influence, supplying many global retailers and e-tailers working with long-standing partner factories in Asia, Turkey and also UK manufacturing with relationships built up over time. Over recent years the company also delivers the newest styles straight to consumers via its online business through its branded websites Native Youth and Neon Rose.
Sanjeev (1979) Ltd has been using XeBuisness, Sage 50 and a multitude of spreadsheets and manual processes. In order to achieve its growth aspirations and goal of increasing annual turnover and profitability, the company embarked on a review of the ERP marketplace.
Operationally the business has Influence Wholesale at the centre of the business with all styles designed by the team in the UK supplying many of the fashion providers. Influence sell from their range or can manufacture to any specification, with or without personalised labels. From the same location they also stock their sister brands Neon Rose, Native Youth, Wednesday’s Girl as well as value menswear label Another Influence. Therefore the business needs to effectively manage the different brands stock and this was a critical area when searching for an ERP solution. The Protex solution provides the ability to manage their products by style, colour, size and fit along with incorporating seasonality. This will minimise their stock planning challenges, which in turn will deliver cost savings associated with holding too little or too much of the wrong stock.
Martin Rath, Director at Datel explains the Protex in the Cloud model, ‘Many start up business’s are unsure as to what solution is best to support their new business operation, and cost is a particular concern. Protex in the Cloud provides a solution that businesses can adopt quickly using some of the basic functionality to help bring their business onto a system quickly. Protex is a functionally rich solution, new functions can be switched on to support their businesses’ growth as and when needed. The subscription method aligns the realisation of benefits more closely to the payments of the solution.’
